Other cleaning a mikuni sbn44

I'm rebuilding and cleaning my mikuni sbn 44mm. I have all the gaskets off and was wondering if it's ok to stick the whole carb into some carb cleaner and let it sit for 30 minutes. Are there any little rubber parts or something that i don't know about and will ruin if i do this? The only thing i can see that is left on is the throttle arm.

I wouldn't think carb cleaner would eat away anything in the firstplace. Otherwise we probably wouldn't run it in our carbs? Just my opinion

also, would anyone know if the spacer between the carb and the intake is necessary. I have a mikuni 44 with a westcoast intake and the intake came with a 1/8" spacer. Two gaskets and a spacer leave me with one thread maybe 1 and a half threads sticking up.

dip it soak but be prepared to take the throttle plate (butterfly ) off after to replace the throttle shaft seals that now have changed shape.
