Other Cleaning really dirty engine parts?

Any suggestions on what to use to clean really gunked up motor parts? I’m specifically wondering if there’s any really powerful stuff that will remove just about anything with out having to scrub it to death. Of course I’m lazy but mostly because there are so many nooks and crannys on the cases that’s impossible to get to them with a wire brush. I have the engine tore down and soaking in a bucket of gasoline but so far it will only remove so much. I’d like to repaint but am worried that if I don’t get the parts clean enough the paint won’t stick and in the long run eventually peel off looking worse than before. Any one know of any industrial machine shop stuff that will do the trick?

Gasket remover will remove paint and grime and whatever else is on the parts, we use it in our shop to remove the :):):):) the washbin and hot tank wont remove.

If the engine is apart then tape up the bearing seats and the mating surface of the case sand blast it clean. If the sand blaster won't blow it off then you can paint over it with no worries.

Find an autobody supply, and get a gallon of Aircraft stripper, comes in a light blue can.
Its really to only way to strip off old paint and grime.

I've used lacquer thinner to clean parts before. I will soak them and then hit 'em with a tooth brush or something like it.
