figure out what size cylinders i can get i want to look into getting tungsten carbide sleves the stuff dosent cost much in china

How do you machine cutting tool material? Sounds like some $$$$$$ machine work to remove enough material to make sleeves.

Easy, you grind it on a cylinder grinder.

Breaking in of the rings and expansion rate I dont think would work though.

But hey Good Luck.

People flinch at buying a COMPLETE top end for $2800.

Good luck with making it out of exotic materials.

Will be a bargain at the price.

I run a state of the art aerospace machine shop, including
5axis machines and would never try to make a top end. 2800.00$ way cheap for what your getting.

just get your hands on a DASA cylinder and copy it. it seems to work for others.

Cheaper to just buy one from dasa, They can't be getting rich unless they sell them by the bakers dozen.

How many companies need to make billet cylinders before the price drops enough to not be worth making them anymore. My guess is 4. The companies with the knowledge will leave this business and you will just have the copy guys that don't have the knowledge making them. I am willing to bet that the quality control will not be anywhere near the same. All this because some think this market is huge and there are guys waiting in line to buy this stuff. I think we need to support the companies that develop the products and not the ones that copy the products. If they leave then what new products are they going to produce for others to copy. If they themselves sold more maybe the price would drop. Listening to what people say in forums and making business decisions based on that is not the smartest thing to do. Just remember back when everybody was arguing that the 951 piston ADA billet cylinder would choke and be no good because the transfers were too small. What happened ? Now everybody wants to make a big bore billet cylinder. There is only a certain number of potential buyers.
