I have a 92 650 that died out on the water the other day, using my spark gap tester on my Kawasaki 300 it has a highly visible purple color bright spark and it jumps a pretty big gap (pinky fingertip) on my sj the spark is barely visible, and barely jumps the gap. I ohm'd out my stator wires and it's within spec of my manual, however I'm missing the page for the coil pack values.
On the primary side I have a 0.5 ohm reading between black and orange wires, on the secondary I have 4.2k ohms between the plug wires. The primary resistance doesn't sound right to me? Does anyone know what it should be for a 92
And I already cut back the wires at both ends (plug and coilpac) so I know those connections are good. I can't get it to start at all, after 15 seconds of cranking it will pisspoor fire up for a half second but can't sustain running so I'm almost fairly certain it's the coil pack.
And if that's the case, where is the fastest place to order from in Canada if possible? I want a replacement by the end of next week. Should I get oem or something else? Thanks everyone
