coil wire replacement

I have like 5 good coils that need new wires for various reasons. I know JSS does it for $65 each but I wanted to see how to do this myself. I remember seeing a picture of a special tool to remove the old wire & epoxy out of the coil body, but can't find it now.
Here's an auction where you can buy 100 ft of 8mm MSD plug wire. Is this the right size for a jetski coil?

I just used a drill bit down to the spike, then just dig the rest out. I had even ground the sides to open it up so I could get the leads all the way down and then I used shoe goo to encapsulate the holes and glue the leads in place. Ran it like this for about 4 years with no issues. Picked up some Beldon 7mm wire at NAPA.

Here is the tool. It takes seconds to get the old stuff out.

So, how much for one of these tools mark? Or can I borrow yours and mail it back? I have 5 coils to get the wires off of.

The right tool is key - the drilling to the spike and digging out the last bits method is more of a pain than it sounds like. I made a makeshift tool that worked good but was flimsy and broke, which made that not worth it either.

Hey,

So if I'm understanding this right ... inside the coil are two spikes that you're really just pushing the new wire over, making sure that the core is in contact with the spikes inside the coil? Then, you epoxy around the wire to make sure it's waterproof?
