Ha! Yeah let me know I am not in a major rush to buy one. I just figure if I am going to buy a new tank why go oem when it will turn yellow after time. I don't really need to see in there as I never ride enough to burn through 5+ gallons in one ride session.

You know I wanted one for my murdered out build but I just couldn't get over not seeing my fuel level.

Too bad they couldn't work out how to put a white strip in them.

the black one looks sweet but is more of a headache then its worth. every time you fill your ski up its almost impossible to tell when its full and when you overfill it all the fuel spills into your bilge. im very happy with my white one.

I used it in my new Rickter and love the fact it will always be black! You can see the reflection of the fuel when it gets almost to the top and I have not spilled yet. The only thing is checking fuel level you have to pull the cap and peak in, but oh well it looks sick, and I'm already under the hood anyway!

I have the black tank. You just have to fill it up slow when you reach the top. It takes about 5 seconds longer to fill up than the clear one haha. It looks super good too!

Can you use 2x brass 90' fittings (one top and one bottom of tank) and some clear pipe to create a gauge (like a kettle) up the side of the tank?

I'd say that would be too susceptible to leaking.
ive seen it on a few chopper fuel tanks. just use rubber o-rings safe for fuel. made out of the same type of rubber that your fuel lines are. i feel that they would be hard to install... but if you could, worth it!

Chopper fuel tanks are metal with the ability to use NPT threads and if they do leak, it isn't into an enclosed bilge.

I have looked into putting together a compact, waterproof and surf proof fuel gauge package before but I just don't think enough people would buy one. Even with a target price in the $129 range, there's only a few dollars of profit in it for my troubles.

a mate of mine has a black one and did as superjetjim says to do but used cold fusion tank breather repairs, looks good and like they were ment to be there.
was a big risk though to do it to a new tank but payed off and works, not sure how it will go long term with vibration, so far so good
