Cold fusion midshaft housing - "cold welding" ?

So when i build my 2019 DJR Nitro i decided to put in some new bits, like a bran new cold fusion midshaft housing, always thought these were super nice. But after doing some inspection i was quite surprised that this has started to come apart, after under 10 hours of ride time. half/half freshwater and saltwater (not super super salty)
Is this common and why they stopped making these?
Im disapointed to say the least

To me that just looks like the overlapped elastomer is starting to separate from the housing due to vibration. I wouldn't be concerned with what you are seeing. If it continues to grow and delaminate from the actual bore of the housing, that's when I would start to worry.

Let me tell you, this driveline is propper aligned. Not my first rodeo :)
I cen get a feeler gauge between the housing and the rubber, so its not just the lip, it has delaminated from the bore. Might be hard to see on the video
The other OEM midshaft housing i used in my KDX/KVX for 5 years has not seperated. So no i have to decline - its not due to vibrations.

Not sure, ... I also have the cold fusion, it’s anadized red and has CF logo, but I’ve never pealed the sealing lip back.. mine is about 5 years old and no issues so far...I just reinstalled it and can’t check under the lip

OEM only. The durometer is not right on the AM ones. What motor mounts are you running?

I didn't mean your driveline was misaligned. Two strokes vibrate by nature. With flexy motor mounts and an idling big bore two stroke, you're going to see some vibration regardless of alignment.

Yeah well in that case i suppose they have to "reverese engineer" the proiducts - if a OEM midhsaft housing can withstand, they should be able to make a "high end" product that can do the same. But i guess not

the rubber is supposed to be vulcanized to the aluminum. it probably wasn't done correctly and didn't stick that good.
same reason aftermarket motor mounts are junk, the rubber lets go of the metal.
just like on the kawi, that housing is just a seal between the water and the engine compartment. its not there to keep; the driveshaft from wobbling, so even if it was totally unstuck from the metal, it would still work but some water might leak by.
put a bead of silicone on that lip and forget about it
