Ok a bit more time on the water, and a few tweeks, 1st, got rid of the heavy pole for one of Tems carbon fiber poles, this thing seems bullet proof,
machined it to accept delrin bushings on the bottom and bored the top to accept the stock yamaha steering bushings for the turnplate. I moved the springs inboard so they are hidden now . I now have a neutral pole balance,
than We put 2 air intake hoses in the hood and now have only one running up the pole, this has let the motor breath better.
Now that we had some time on the motor we put a bit more timing to it to wake it up and leaned out the top end
Tem himself got to ride it so hopefully he can chime in with his thoughts
the balance on the hull is phenomenal and dosnt have the teaspoon effect that other rocker hulls seem to have
due to the heavy bottom and light top its almost like a weeble and helps right itself if you land off axis.
The Dasa 850 is soooo smooooth you may think its an electric motor. we set it up for a linear power curve, and I must say it hits hard off the bottom and just keeps pulling from there, without being violent anywhere
I did get the chance to ride the short carbon version with rear rocker in the surf, and I now understand peoples comments about going shorter on the hull length
its was only slightly less stable and really fun to ride, however for west coast surf the standard length glass version that we built seems perfect to me, but my skis never see fresh water.
