It definitely is gonna take alot of sanding and finishing work but this thing will definitely be worth it in the end. Today we're planning on laying a few more layers on the nose. Then after weve sanded all the glass we laid we'll be filling and shaping the entire ski. 3 weeks left to get this thing finished for the lsfr so we've got alot of work ahead of us

Quick update with some pics. Final glasswork pretty much done time to start sanding and smoothing and put it together before LSFR.

Unfortunately it won't get painted by then but a paint design is in the works.

another update!
all the reinforcing is finished. We carved out the footholds alot more, and got them glassed in. i wanted them big enough to fit 8mm padding on the top and possibly the bottom as well. Next up is the finish work and more sanding and shaping. The powerplant and all the parts necessary to run this thing are awaiting being put in. hopefully all that will get done over the weekend. We've got one more week to get this thing done so its time to crack down and get in high gear to finish this thing :drillsergeant:

heres some pictures of the first side finished

well the Lonestar freeride is tomorrow, and my ski is 95% done. enough to ride, and thats all that matters. the ONLY thing left is to find something to turf this thing with because unfortunately Hydroturf didnt get our order soon enough to make it before the ride :grumble: So here it is! all thats left to do is a bit of final sanding and a primer coat. Carb needs some tuning but as far as everything else goes, shes ready to go!!!

Well in the pictures it doesnt show even close to what it looks like in person. The lines run much smoother than on a 550. It isnt perfect at the moment but after i get more time after the freeride to work on it, it should look alot more like what i was originally aiming for.

im sure with paint and a hood it will look a lot better... pictures on the internet are always different than the way it looks in person.

slick azz build. Those nose, hood, and gunwhale mods are exactly what I wanted to do to my SN, but chickened out being a severe newb with glass work. The 95% finished product looks great. I think with paint and turf this ski will look sick! nice work. Keep the pics coming.

well shes back from her maiden voyage. all i have to say is, she's a beast of a ski. only rode twice because it was freezing cold in surfside for the lonestar freeride, but the two times i did were definitely worth it. Without the turf, my legs got murdered. and the carb is still in need of tuning. the next few weeks are gonna be filled with the final glasswork, and hopefully paint and turf arent too far along after. this thing is definitely gonna be my pride and joy when its done :Banane13:

for now, all that is left to do is the FINAL shaping, a few cracks on the rear near the pump need to be repaired, turf, and paint. Soon as i get some money saved up, this things getting a pipe and a head hopefully

Ill keep everyone up to date on this build soon as she starts progressin again

That square looks great! The lines just all flow together. I'm in the process of cutting down my hood. After seeing yours, I have a few more ideas of how I want mine to look.

Thanks guys! its been a slow moving project but its on the move again

im gonna start work on the hood and pole soon, the lines arent quite where they need to be, and now that i found out modeling clay works MUCH better than foam (as if i mess up i can always add more clay, with foam that was nearly impossible)

The nose is at the last stage, and only needs the final smoothing finish put on it, ill get pictures later on.

As far as the hood goes, its got a couple low spots so i need to raise it near the back where the curve is.

ill keep everyone up to date on the progress when i can! :bigok:
