compression/rebuild question

I have a 701 61x that has 132 psi in both cylinders. Can I just get a hone and put new rings? Or do I have to replace the pistons too? :scratchchin:

it depends. could be any number of reasons your compression is lower than it should be. but yes, it is possible to get away with a hone and rings if everything else is in good order and the pistons look alright.

Have the cylinder measured top, center and bottom. Is the bore equal from top to bottom? is it still round? measure piston and confirm piston to cylinder wall clearance. if excessive ,out of round, bore tapered or deep scoring in cylinder walls than it's time to bore.
