when trying to open an important file in outlook i get a message. it says - This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel.

so i go to control panel and folders then what? me not smart.

Hey, what you trying to open (extension type)

its just a 4 mb file. It says file unknown but i get this a lot with various stuff. Its a simple power point presentation. it does say file unknown though.

right click the file, select properties, and find out what extension it has.

hotassporn.flv

then do a search for the ".flv" extension and google will tell you what opens it.

nothing works for me. when i right click it has open, print, save, save as. no properties. I opened it fine at the library.

it sounds like you already know it is a power point file. do you have powerpoint installed on the PC you are trying to open it on?
if so, was the file created with the same version of PowerPoint?

i doubt i have power point. it happens with various other files sometimes though. oh well thanks.... im done with this chit. I hate computers.

Upload the file to FreePdfConvert.com and it will convert it into a pdf for you. Most people have pdf readers. You just upload the file and hit convert.

You also find a free power point viewer on the net and install it. You then can view power point presentations. You don't need to have the full power point program installed.
