To bad I live a hour away from Daytona and 30 minutes from Sebastian inlet so I can ride surf all year round so yes im going to ride flat mostly and surf on Saturday don't have to worry about frozen body's if water

waves are as big as ocean thats for sure... only downfall is theres not much spacing in between each wave

Flat water friday is the only reason I went to Daytona last year. I was in the market for a new hull, and Daytona was the perfect place to try a bunch of different hulls. I got to try a KDX, Footrocket, Rickters, Vision, and a Backie Chan. I was surprised there were no BOB's there to demo!

Same... turn and burn the same day to try out a Chan and some other FW hulls.

Its has a following BECAUSE of the vendors who show up with demo skis. If you consider the percentage of members who ride flat vs. surf, it makes sense why people would want to attend.
My suggestion is the vendors should all agree on a date that works best for them, that would drive the attendance and set the date.

its a good idea, but get there early as there will be TONS of people there and its a very small ride spot...

yep, i will be flying in wednesday afternoon, flying out sunday evening. My buddy is bringing my ski down with him the week before.

Lol but seriously, when I came out before, it was a investment to make sure I liked the hull that I planned on buying. It was a blast and I enjoyed meeting other members, but jetting off to FL to ride skis doesn't fit in my budget this year unfortunately.

I plan to bring my boat out this year to make some waves. Was great 2 yrs ago 15-20 people on my boat, guys going huge off v wake... TC had to rip a 30ft BF off the v wake... Even single boat the wave is decent... Been away from the sport for a few, but getting that itch again to start riding.....

Sure hope my buddys Tem, Chris , Lucas, Brian , cole bring a ski for me to get my feet wet.....

I understand why people like it, and the demo's etc...
It just seems odd for many to travel so far, to do the lake.

The last "memorable" waves were 2007 at the Freeride. Early A.M.
Maybe that's part of it.

Still, I must chuckle.

But I honestly think making the flat water day Sunday is a mistake. I'm almost certain I will not go. Just too much going on trying to get everything cleaned up at the house and loaded up to go home to make the 50 min ride on Sunday.....

50 min ride each way to get to diaz and back. If you speed and make all the lights it may be less but that's what it took us to get there from a1a
