Considering buying a 2017 SXR 1500, a few ?'s

I am looking at picking a 17 SXR up for $4500 with no trailer and have always loved standups and have had numerous Superjets in the past. Does anyone have one? What are your thoughts and opinions? Any real problems or weak spots on this ski? What do you think about the deal at $4500? Original owner and freshwater ski. I know they are heavier than the 2 strokes but I care more about stability and carving with the ability to do some small wake jumps off boats.

Heavier is a understatement! Fast is a understatement too!

I have ridden one a few times and all I can say is it is what it is and it seems very solid and it IS STUPID FAST and easy to ride!

$4500 is a steal. My advice would to be buy it, put a season on it, if you don’t like it you could easily get your money back.

That price is too good to be true. What is the catch? Used prices are around 6500-7200.00 on average.
It is in kind of a remote area and it is winter and the market is depressed a bit. He is willing to deliver it to me and even lake test it before buying.

The only thing is it probably needs an oil change and new plugs as they a re original. Very low hours thou at about 25.

Any major issues with this model or are they very reliable?

Pretty sure that setup was/is very very well proven in sit downs prior to Kawi having the balls to toss it in a stand up!

I'm telling you man....it pulls and pulls and is a friggin blast to ride for what it is meant for!

Get it! If not post his info and I may be driving to rural Texas!

A friend of mine bought a new one this summer. I rode it recently for about 10 minutes. The reason my ride was so short is twofold. One, the water was cold and I felt like it was going to chunk me off at any second. I didn't want to go for a swim. It chine walks pretty bad. I was really surprised because it is so large I thought it would be more stable. I mean, I ride an fx1. He used to own a squarenose but sold it because of the chinewalking. I thought the sxr was quite a bit worse. The second reason was my arms were tired because it pulls so hard. (I had to hold it wide open right?) It weighs 551 lbs which wasn't a problem until we had to both drag it into the back of his enclosed trailer. We joked that it almost weighs as much as my fx1 and blaster together. I would like to ride it in warmer weather so I can really try it out. He has already mentioned he may trade it in on the new superjet. There are plenty of YouTube reviews you can watch. At that price you can always resell it if you decide you don't like it.

They are a ton of fun. I would say that it is closer to a couch jet ski that you stand on then a SJ. That being said, they are super fast and will rip your arms off. However, they are not as playful and almost impossible to jump compared to a SJ.
