converting single trailer to 2 place?

here ya go:biggthumpup:

The blaster is sold so now I have the superjet on one side and my beach cart on the other side. It works out very nicely being that I can't fit my beach cart in my jeep.:biggrin:

fwi and FLY, thoese trailers look clean. I like! The only question I had was the bow stop or winch set-up. I am in the process of doing my own single to double trailer conversion, but mine is a little different. I picked up this Triton single place from John Zigler for $360.00. It is their top of the line model with a torsion axle, full aluminum construction and enclosed lighting. I got this bracket idea from John who accually has it on his old featherlite watercraft trailer. It is going to cost me more than $90 dollars to convert but I think the full aluminum construction will benifit me and their will be less bolts and brackets to mess with. I just got this aluminum cut and still have to do some final fitting before I weld them up, should be done in a month or so. My plan is to use those bow pin stops on the trailer. Should be real nice in the end!

Appreciate it.

I was going to put a bow stop/winch on there, but I really dont think I need it. I always use my beach cart now when I am launching the ski and if I dont use it I can drive the ski up on to the bunks. I've never had a problem with the ski sliding forward even on very hard stops. One day I'll put one on when someone offers a cheap way to do it. I've seen some options for it, but they are way too expensive and I can't justify the cost.

Post pics and prices when you get yours done. I am curious how yours turns out and how much it costs. I might follow your route with the bow stops.

Thanks:biggthumpup:

Yeah, what Dan said, and let us know how you get there.
For now I just use 2 straps around each ski to the bunks.
Haven't gone anywhere far yet, but it should be ok because that is the way I use to strap one standup on that trailer, without a bow stop.:biggthumpup:

How is the Karavan holding up in the salt water? My MagicTilt is rusting way too much after only 4 years. Axles are so rusty bearing seals only last 4-5 weekends (after sanding down even!).

Mine has held up great. There really isn't much rust on it at all. I am very meticulous about rinsing it though. :biggthumpup:

The conversions look great.
Now you got me thinking of trying to convert our double sit-down trailer to take a runnabout and two stand-ups - not soon, but when an exta stand-up comes along...

Mine has only been in salt water a few times and I too am very obsessive about rinsing every inch of it, especially where the moving parts are. No rust yet.

trailer for sale

I have a 2006 Continental trailer bought new converted to a perfect Blaster and Superjet set up. It has Wide profile tires and I used it twice. It cost me 600 new and about two hundred to convert it. It isnt the big double. It is a medium sized single. I have 800 invested and would sell for 500. I am in Daytona Beach Florida. Call me at 407-427-0421. I dont have access to the site very often.

Hey guys - I am going to convert my single Load Rite into a double before the season starts. I measured and everything seems like it will work just fine but I have one challenge:

The inside bunks are easy to install with just vertical bunk brackets. But the outside brackets will need to stick out about 4 inches past the frame (still within the fenders though). Aside from having someone weld something, are there any brackets out there that will do that I need. Almost like this shape:
||
.\\
..||

(ignore the periods, it's the only way I could get it to display right)

My parents' neighbor is a welder - if need be I am sure he can hook me up but I still don't even know what to show him. Unless I just tell him what I need to do and let him figure it out.

Thanks.
