Super Jet Cooler plug for hotter weather...any thoughts

Well it must be that all Superjets till 2004 use b8hs.. I have a couple OEM manuals for 6m6 and 61X that states b8hS.

Anyways, an 8 is what i would run in any year superjet personally..

Not that I really care but the OEM service manual calls for the b8 and the pipe has b7...time to move on.

Until you, or anyone else, can show me a performance difference...with math to prove it, I will advise OEM plugs no matter the weather.

Folks seem to think a hot/cold plug means something it doesn't.

Most likely the manuels are contradicting the Mfgs sticker on the pipe. It doesn't matter- we're nit picking here. The original question was should the plugs be changed for a different heat range per the weather (seasons) and IMO the answer is no, it doesn't make any difference
 
i was trying to accomplish something like what's put in the radiator, stuff like Water Wetter. didn't realize spark plugs have no real relevance to physical engine temperature. guess the hot/cold nomenclature is very misleading, learned something new. headed out to the lake to tune my carbs so the 8's (HS) are going back in.

The main Point I was making is NO oem superjet takes an "ES" 3/4 in reach plug

putting an es plug in an head designed for an HS length plug causes bad things to happen

he originally stated was using " B7ES" plugs


it is true that there are many instances of the Factory service manual not agree with what is actually on the ski as must be the case here

all i can say is i have always ran BRP7es plugs and no problems in both our skis
have done it in the super hot AZ temp area and have used in NY
i never get plug fouling despite the heavy mix ratio i use

as a note, i'm hardly ever WOT, mainly cause of the steep props i have used

why would you get fouling from a plug with a higher heat range anyways... if anything you would foul less plugs with the 7's but that doesnt justify everyone switching to them.
 
The weather does not change the need for a different heat range spark plug. The water temp does to a certain degree. If a completely stock engine uses a 7 range plug then it would be logical that once we modify the engine with more compression and a pipe and maybe even porting you would need a colder plug. If your running in very cold water and are mostly on the lower rpms then there is no need to go to a colder plug.
