Every time I pull a motor to do some work inside a hull, I have to wrestle cooling lines off and back on aluminum through hull fittings which are never standard size (FootRocket). So I thought adding quick disconnects would make my life vastly easier, but then I realized the ID of quick disconnects designed for 3/8" cooling line is a mere 1/4". I was concerned about limiting water flow to my motor.
My skis are setup for dual cooling and Lake Erie was 64 F yesterday, but I wondered if this new inline reduction of water flow from 3/8" to 1/4" would be detrimental.
Then I had another thought... The brass 90 fitting at the pump has an ID just slightly larger then 1/4".
So, should adding quick disconnects between the in hull aluminum lines and the exhaust manifold present any adverse conditions?
