A copper head gasket may increase the compression to much if your haveing the head milled. The copper gaskets are usually pretty thin compared to the factory ones. What kind of ski is this on?
The copper head gaskets I was looking at were something like .020" where as the OEM rubberized steel gasket is .010" - so it actually would have decreased compression for me. Whoever is milling your head (I had mine done by #Zero and he did a very thorough job!) needs to know the new gaskets thickness!!

Should be fine since the factory kawi gasket was only.010 thick. Are they recutting your chambers too? The 550 reed motors were pretty close to the limit on pump gas compression from the factory. If they mill alot off your head you could be to high on compression
Hi there just jumping in on this thread and hope you can help.
