hey guys....
3 questions unanswered in forum regarding reinforcing, dual cooling and ... dual cooling

1) looking at pictures, is that the right place to tap for dual cooling fitting? lots of old treads regardin this but all the old pic are gone - even in pwct

2) i only hav one 500l elec bilge...no scupper. is it better to leav stock bilge (read that in newer superjets it doesnt rob too much power) and run single cooling for girdled head + 35cc cones + limited pipe, or shud i just go ahead and dual cool, crossing fingers about bilge not stoppin? (planning on freestyle

3) no matter how much resin i add or pressure i apply, i always hav a few 1 or 2 inch bubbles that dont want to go - lack of adherence rather than oxygen bubble/ should i just leav that as it or cutter those off and repatch

I thought if you dual cool you use the stock billage line, a 500 pump is fine I'm running a 800, the draw is about the same but is more then your charging system puts out, but don't worry I've never killed my battery yet because I don't always have it running

as for the glass make sure every thing is clean clean clean and take your time

I always like to have two ways to get water out of my hull, so I would keep the stock siphon with the bilge pump. You can lose the siphon when you put a scupper or one way in. Bilge pumps can fail in interesting ways, so it's good to have a backup.

Adding more resin to the glass won't help get rid of a bubble - it just costs you more in epoxy and adds weight. The easiest way to get rid of a bubble like that is to ease the fibers apart to make a hole for you to press the air out. Cutting and patching will work aesthetically, but won't do much for strength. To avoid bubble in the first place try wetting the area first and laying the cloth on dry. Use a squeegee or roller to press the glass into the resin.

run 2 bilges & dual cooling, get rid of the stock siphon.

On your glassing question - are you sure you are prepping & cleaning everything completely? are you using a resin roller?

roger on resin.
i cant really install a scooper since am finishin the winter projects this week and waaaaay over budget. my wife is even jealous of my jetski, as i spend all my money on it and not on her.

So how do i manage to keep stock bilge AND run the secondary cooling line? do i need to drill thru the hull?

1.yes
2.i would run both, electric and stock
3.cover problem areas with a piece of plastic, this will keep air from sucking back through the glass.

how are you atempting to get the air out? are you using real thin glass and stretching it out in that spot so when you push it down it pops up? No reason for a TWO INCH air bubble!

I almost always wet the area then put the glass down. I get boxes of paint brushes at Harbor frieght that are like 2" wide with shorter bristles prob. like 2" as well. They are lke 10 bux for 20 of them. I use them to work the glass down into the resin and only add more resin if I can not get the glass saturated. I takes very little resin, soaking the glass firts uses twice as much resin as you need!

stock siphon and a bilgepump id say. then u can leave your pump off and let the siphon do the work, until you sub or somthing, then turn on the pump b4 the trick. you probly dont really need dual cooling,,,but i dont know your engine so i cant make that call.
