so guys. i have herd from certain people that the problem with the B-pipe for power is that the manifold is at too steep of an angle.... so i thought, what would happen if you used a Power Factor style manifold and just connected a limited pipe to it? would it just be crap or, tuned correctly, could something like this create some power. keep in mind this would be for a 701- under 900.

DISCUSSSSSSSSS:pancake:

I would think that Factory Pipe already addressed this when they designed the B pipe. Besides would it even fit?

How about a new chamber design that works with the existing manifold and headpipe? In the end its all a compromise, you are either going to move the power curve from the B-pipe bottom to mid type hit, to the powerfactor mid to top hit.

why not just use a powerfactor and call it a day?

because i need 5 gallons and want bottom to mid hit not mid to top and i dont want 900cc

true but i feel like there is more room for more bottom to mid hit out of a pipe. it cant be so cut and dry. our problem is room in the ski.

If you are looking for more bottom to mid hit I pretty sure using a dry pipe manifold is not your answer. If I am not mistaken from what i have read, the over all tuned length plays a large role in what range the power is made. If you were to used a dry pipe manifold and a B-pipe chamber that would drastically shorten the tuned length.

A custom aluminum tank wouldnt set you back that much if you were to stumble upon a better chamber design and needed a little clearance to make it fit.

i just think, what if there was a pipe that made the 701 rip as hard as a big motor :highhorse:

i think a 701 has way more potential than what is currently available.

Considering how you're never wrenching on your driveline while at the beach, this mod could provide the element of danger to make things exciting!
Go for it.
