I am a comedian of errors. I leave the tank cap loose because of concerns that ambient heat will pressure the tank and force fuel through the needle and seat and into the crank case. So, I took off yesterday from the boat launch with the gas cap off. So the first thing I am going to do tonight is to pull and drain the tank.

Yep most people do not understand it's not really a one way valve, it lets air in but at about 5 psi it lets air vent out also, I used to hear the popoff all the time walking through the lot on a hot Sunmmer day.

Done!
Now drinking coffee to get ready for Bible study at 6:30am in the park in Sacramento which is 45 mins away.
It's predicted to be 100F in the Delta this afternoon which is glorious ! (But only if you are in the water riding.)
Have a great day!

You know I didn't take a photo of it, but as the jar sat there longer, both the water and the fuel each became less milky and then extremely clear and bright and the dividing line between them became even more distinct.

Yes they say water and gas won't mix but they will somewhat and over time everything will settle out , I have reclaimed a lot of gasoline that way over the years.
