Custom/Hybrid Coupler spacing HELP!!!

When i had my midshaft pressed for a smaller shaft for my BOB it is supposed to stick out 20mm on the pump side of the shaft. It is professionally done and i measured with a caliper and its dead on.. But there is a good half inch between the two coupler's. The motor is back as far as it can go. Is this alright or should i go get it repressed?

Any washer that fits works or are there ones just for this? I may answer my self when I take it apart tomorrow. The coupler on the motor is standard thread; is MS std. or rev?

I believe the washers he is referring to are from the oem pump between the prop and the pump bearings. If that is true, jetmaniac is your source.
I run mine with about a 1/4 in gap.

No, that will move your prop away from your stator veins but has nothing to do with the coupler.

you can also put it on motor side if its easier for you to access, 1/4" gap is ok with limmitted power setup . You just need to find a 1/4" thick washer with that big of an OD or make one.

It's not easy to remove the coupler from the mid shaft while installed (heat, pipe wrench). Should js/sj remove the mid shaft, he could have it "repressed". An easier way might be to elongate the holes in the bed plates. Done that often enough. You certainly don't want more than 1/4" between couplers- hard on the rubber insert.
