Cracked '05 Hull after 1 season

So a little bit of the back story...I purchased this ski as a leftover about a year ago. Its an 05 and completely stock, I finally have a prop and intake grate coming tomorrow, but I think I am going to have to delay the install on those items. I am by no means and "expert" rider and so far I've only used it on a lake. Today I was checking it over after a quick ride and I found this crack. Its located exactly where the battery is and leeks quiet a bit of water. It doesn't extend any further down than the decal. I have plans on running it Daytona on the ocean this summer. Do you guys think i should just fix the crack or pull the engine, and reinforce the tray, sides, etc. right away?

From what I can tell that is underneath the rail? If so, from what I heard it is common. I had a 2000 that cracked on both sides underneath the rail. I reinforced the inner sides and ran a piece of 2" inch fiberglass tape along the underside of each rail from nose to the rear. If I would do it again, I'd use 3" for a little more coverage.

Definitely reinforce the inside and handle pole area (turn ski upside down). Then just cosmetically repair that crack on the outside. I did carbon fiber on mine, but fiberglass is just as good.

I am going rip it apart tommorrow in the day light. The hull must be pretty weak because It could have only happened from nose stabs off my own wake. I am thinking full reinforcement I figure it better to spend the time now then, have an issue while I am riding in the ocean on an "actual wave". Robert, What type of carbon fiber did you use 17oz, 12oz?

You'll have to search through the threads. I want to say it was 5.4 oz. I got it from some airpane guys around the corner from me. It has been a long time. Look under Yamaslut's threads. We did ours together and I think he documented the process. He used the same material and both boats are still crack free.
