Cracked engine. What are my options?

Two things cause cases to crack, rod bearings going out or internal pieces of the engine got loose and got in between the rod and the case, either way you will be tearing that completely down and replacing whatever needs to be replaced.

You might could tig weld the bottom cases but the hard part there is getting the cast aluminum clean enough to get a good weld. The oils have a tendency to soak into the aluminum making it very difficult to get a good clean weld that will hold up.

8, 10, 12, 14, I think 17mm socket gets the flywheel nut. Just need those sockets and hand wrenches to take the entire engine apart. Its pretty easy and definitely necessary to learn if you plan to own a stroke jetski.

That is easily weldable by someone who knows what they are doing however insist that they weld it with the case halves bolted together and torqued, the chances of warping the case is great if it is not done properly

Def take coupler first off before anything else. You can stick a piece of rope down into the cyls via plug hole to lockup the crankshaft to be able to free the coupler (will be on there very tight), coupler is a LEFT-HAND thread - clockwise loosens it. You'll need a puller for the flywheel', not hard to do. Take it all apart and inspect, post pics and you'll get all the help you need here.

But yeah I’m with wfo, I would bet piston skirt cracked off, and crank punched it into case, and usually when piston makes it to bottom end you’ll need a crank too. If that’s the case there’s not a lot left you won’t need to replace

finally pulled the flyweel. that is cracked. I can only assume there is other damage as well. Am i better off buying a used engine at this point?
