GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!

I have a Waveblaster on Craigslist and have this number wanting to buy it without looking at it. He wants my paypal addy and will have a pick up agent pick up the blaster.
Ive seen this in emails all the time but this texting thing has me baffled. Im not giving this guy my PP addy. I suppose I could say give me your PP addy and I'll send you a money request invoice and see if he pays.

Anybody seen a texting scammer yet?

"The conversation":

Him: 1996 Waveblaster excellent condition
Do you still have this post for sale?

Me: Hi, yes still for sale.

Him: I'll like to know why you want to sell it. Hope it has no problems?

Me: Sorry for the delay. I got another ski, so I need to sell this one. Np problems with the ski. All the info is in the CL add. u can call me if you have anymore questions. Thx

Him: Do you have paypal account?

I start thinking scam right here...

Me: Yes, why do you want to come see it?

Him: I will be making use of a pick up agent to pick it up from your location to my place,,

Him: Do get back to me with your email paypal account and your address for the payment.

Now im really thinking SCAM.

Me: 1500 cash when u come get it.

Him: why dont you wnat to use paypal

Me: Paypal fees and i want cash at time of pick up. TY
Me: Could be a scam
Me: COD. Thank you

Him: no not a scam

Me: Well I am working now... give me a couple hours to think about it. ill get back to you, TY.

Him: okay will be expecting to read from you.

5 hours later...

Me: So you want to buy this waveblaster without even looking at it? Im sorry but this just seems like a scam or something. Can you call me?

Me: Tried to call you but goes to heywire texting service recording.

Thats where it stands now. What y'all think?? lol

total scam dude. paypal always sides with the buyer during disputes so he could say you never delivered the right product. I personally would wait for a more legit buyer. That's just my .002

I am glad you started this thread. Hopefully people are smart enough to not get taken by it. Years ago i had a guy send me a money order and luckly I called to check on the number on it and it came back as already cashed for a different amount of money. It looked pretty real.

ive buying and selling cars on CL with my 15 year old son. we made $3100 profit back in march after we sold 3 cars. nothing big. never over 2k. anyway there would always be some ridiculous deal like a 2004 G35 for $2188.
always a weird price like that. total CL scam.

I wouldnt do it ,here's a possible scam that can happen. your bank will honor the out of state cashiers check and cash it ,giving you cash in hand . then it will take your bank some time to find out the out of state check is no good (could take weeks)and the bank will contact you and say you are liable for the money .in the meantime you already gave up the ski .cash only ,imo. i would wait for a straight up legit deal ,CL is total buyer beware

I've had this happen to me I've gone really in depth just to see what the people are all about to see if I could crack them I've gotten pick up person name name of buyer and everything but it's the same I'll paypal you and have someone with a truck pick up your ski. The last one the person said the live into state but they were on a business trip so I said I'll wait till your back and she said no I need it now so I told them to go scam off and stay away

When it comes to larger stuff, Legit buyers show up with cash, inspect the item and always try and talk you down. That's what you would do if you were the buyer right? EVERYTHING else is usually a scam. Don't let your eagerness to make a sale cloud your judgement.
