crank coupler

Couldnt get it off at home so I got machine shop to get it off. I had to get the head machined anyway.

My question is i am putting the coupler onto a new crank. I am doing it in my garage with no special tools such as air tools. Whats the best method to put it on. Just screw it on the crank and tension it as best i can with a lever ?

Others will chime in, but a flywheel lock( cold fusion sells 1 I think ) is one way or on a budget stick rope down a spark plug hole so the crank tightens on that and you can get the coupler tight

Please, consider using a gasket sealer or at least grease on the threads so it wont corrode - you are joining 2 dissimilar metals. It's quite acceptable to use a piece of hardwood- maybe oak or an old hammer handle, then place it against one of the coupler ears and smack it with a hammer. You can snug it up quite nicely that way.

Put antiseize on the thread as it spins it will tighten just snug it tight, it will fully tighten soon as you run the motor
