Crank it up or play it safe- MSD Enhancer

Just threw an MSD Enhancer in my 650SN. Question about the rev limiter, what should I set it at? I don't want to have to worry when other people hop on it and run it WOT. It's range from 5500-9000, stock is around 6.5k I think. Everything on the ski is stock, will 8k blow my stock 6R7 up or should I just crank it up and avoid wot runs?

Turn all the way up then turn it back just a little bit.

In my opinion if you dime an enhancer limiter and the people that ride the ski understand you let go of throttle when the pump is unloaded, crank it and go. But if someone falls and keeps on the the throttle while there's no water going through your intake eventually your gonna do damage.

Art at jetworks told me once 6m6 motors are low end beasts but that's all they got. At the same time it makes them very reliable. But if you put a cdi in set to no Rev limit and someone falls or even jumps and they hold on to the throttle trigger, eventually you'll do damage

I would set it at 7000. Or put the stock unit back in. A stock 650 won’t get to 6500 unless the pump is out of the water.

Right, thanks for the responses everyone! Set it to right around 7.5k, yeah come to think of it I've never heard it bounce off the limiter while in the water.
Now the thing won't start
Got spark, good battery voltage, turns over strong but doesn't catch. Put it in hoping for easier starts :/ the hunt begins lol

You dont need a rev limiter. I've ran plenty of stock modded CDIs with no limit and nothing blows up from over rev while riding. As for your no start condition, dump some gas down the carb and try it again
