Have heard from multiple builders that WSM cranks now come with Japanese bearings, including their rebuild kits. My hot rods crank I got for my SS build has koyo bearings actually. I went to buy a WSM but they were sold out everywhere, at least a few months ago. A rebuild from crankworks is expensive(new oem is like under 200 more) , more than new WSM or new hot rods but I haven't heard anything bad from them, ever.
I have heard from more than just the posts on this forum but from two builders directly who like competitive for rebuilds but put an Oem bearing on the rear due to ADRs rear bearings being hit and miss.
Now that adr is gone you have limited options with strokers.. Crankworks is around 1600/crank.
PHPs 4mil is much less than that, 1000$ range or so? Light weight and has excellent reliability. Have people around here getting multiple seasons between rebuilds. I just bought an 898 that had 3-4 seasons on that injested and ran lots of water through it to the point the rear piston crumbled and aluminum mush was going through the rear bearings. Front bearing still spins perfectly, lab seal still snug in the center with smooth bearings , rear bearing spins a little rough but no play.. no catastrophic failures considering!! WSM bearings(apparently nachi) and wsm sourced rods. This is on a race gas, dry piped freestyle ski.
I had a ported 701 with no water run through it or catastrophic failures have the rear bearing of an sbt crank blow the cage and take out a top end in under 2 seasons for reference.
They make a 10mil version as well.
