Custom/Hybrid custom ROK build

First off a little history since I am rather new to the forum. Started in stand-up jet ski's a little over a year ago and have decided to take the leap from my 95' SJ to spending all my extra money my own flat water ski. The hull I am working with is one most of you are pretty familiar with the WDK ROK hull I got from 'SKYWALKER'; which has been flipped, wrecked, sunk, and smashed a lot over the past few years but still manages to stay in one piece. Anyways the nose was cracked due to a well documented shallow water incident last year :). So I decide that instead of fixing it I was going to just go all out and rocker the nose and try to shorten the ski up as well as take some weight off. I have no history of fiber glassing of doing much with molds, body work etc. So it has been interesting so far. The hull unfortunately has an sxr bottom deck so most of my super jet stuff works on it forcing me to buy a lot of new parts. My plans for the ski are the same as most novice riders I guess build a ski that can flat water flip with a 701 motor and not go broke in the process. A special thanks to bobob729 for his help, with this project.

Goodies I have for the ski so far

Bored 701 from my SJ
MSD TL and Light weight fly wheel (thanks McDog)
Solas 140 MAG pump with trim
Solas prop
R&D Intake grate
Dual 44 carbs

Parts I am planning on buying hopefully this year

Lmtd b-pipe, and manifold
ATP Water box
ATP steering system, and bars
ATP pole bracket
ATP lightweight aluminum pole
Aluminum gas tank
Mid shaft and drive shaft
Pump shoe
Ballistic Battery
and all the other little misc. parts I will end up needing.

Hope you will enjoy it all coming together.

Here are some before photos:

Time to do some updates. The nose is glassed and defoamed and looks surprisingly like the front of the backie chan hull. I do not have the exact length yet but it is just a little over an inch longer than the chan so i ended up shaving off 3-4 inches off the ski. I also recieved my new atp pole, steering system, and handlebars and could not be more pleased with the product quality, and the customer service of ATP. I recieved the pole just under a week after my order was placed. All that i have left to buy now is a waterbox, b-pipe, and battery. Here are some updated pics.

its funny you say that it was about a month after I started this project that WDK released his ROK-R hull lol. Oh well. The front actually ended up looking very similar to the backie chan, and is only an inch longer than my buddies.
Looks good! Looks like the ROK-R now.

Lookin good! The nose is one thing that i never liked about the ROK. I wonder if by doing this rocker nose if it fix the sub/turn problem ROK's have?

Good question, although even when I am finished I probably won't be able to let you know lol. I only rode this ROK hull for about 10 minutes when I was brand new at it and it had a 1200 WDK motor in it. Needless to say I wa just trying to hold on. The good news is I am hoping to come to Texoma and do some riding this season, so you will have to try it out for yourself.

I bet you were! Sounds good to me :D. I was born in Liberal Kansas, where do you live? Our first big ride at Texoma is June 6-8th (http://www.x-h2o.com/index.php?threads/2014-june-texoma.145825/) The Lewisville crew will be there, they are all really cool people to hang out with.

Idk, ask Larry(skinnyman). In the past i have just bought my own spot, but this year Larry is renting out the whole area.

My uncle lives in Wichita, pretty cool town. He owns a blown glass art shop in Valley Center. He use to race X2s back in the day.
