300/440/550 cylinder bore

I'm thinking of doing several mods to a stock 550 motor and I am wondering how much differance in proformance does boring the cylinder make? I am considering 1mil over, and am just wondering if the perfomance gain would be noticable or not.

Barely noticable and definitely not worth paying for a bore and pistons. Spend the money elsewhere for a much better improvement. Pipe, head, prop, sbn carb, porting, etc.

You could have port work done for almost what the pistons and bore will cost you. Just make sure if you go that way to find somebody with piston port experience
