cylinder head dome question

Need advise on if this is possible.. Can you weld a dome in and then machine it down again? Im wanting to raise compression on my wdk1200 from 180psi to around 220psi. Besides getting another set, this may be my only choice. Possible..? thanks

No probably not, the welding would pull the dome faces out of square and would probably never fit or seal correctly again in the head, just get new domes, thats why they sell interchangeable domes.

Uh well....most head makers do sell interchangeable domes.

There are SOME that are a bit harder to get a hold of/deliver stuff.

Take the dome too a machine shop and see if the can duplicate it. Might take a few trips for them to get the dome cut for the right compression.

yes they can be made easily however it will cost a couple bucks. For instance our machine rate is $85 an hour, you need machine and time for the program.
