cylinder reed intake

I've been learning/working with a engine builder recently.

I was just wondering, cylinder reed motor makes more low end power than case reed engine. What if you took a 62t case and cut the intake off and welded a plate onto it. Then either had a custom cylinder with a cylinder reed intake set up made or just cut into a stock 61x/aftermarket cylinder and welded a intake on there. This could make more bottom end? Does any of this hold water? Like those newer billet cases could have gone this route, but then I guess it wouldent be a bolt on part. You would need a whole custom engine.

A case reed engine is the only way to go!
Having a intake track in the side of the cylinder takes away too much transfer port volume= less HP and torque.

Agreed.

The last step in the billet Banshee case I made was to set it up with case reeds.

Unfortunately our government decided no more two stoke ATV's and most guys switched to 4 strokes.

another data point is the last CR250 motor went case reed before the thumpers took over MX bikes. That last CR250 motor never got the press/credit but it's awesome. Showtime did get the very last two stroke holeshot with it against the thumpers.
