Tow loops, tow ropes and a watchful eye on as many riders as possible is the way to do it.

I wiped out pretty good a few weeks ago. One of the guys saw me wipe out and swung by me gave me his leg to hold onto and he quickly pulled me to my ski about 10 yards away.

Tow loop, tow rope, good battery, well cared for ski!!!

a good place for a tow strap for riders that have hood straps is to take a sunglasses draw string bag, cut two horizontal holes in one side, and loop the bag through one hood strap. easily accessible works well. I've been running the same little baggy for about 1.5 years now.

You can see my tow strap baggy in this pic.

yeah i saw that guys saturday morning ride out by himself at dawn with a back pack, chris said he hasnt missed a day in 2 years. said one time his ski died and he swam 2 miles out to sea to get past the break and got to the harbor. when you first hear a story like that you go "wow that guys gnarly" than hearing a story like this and than thinking about how that guy left with no body but himself........makes you think " wow thats :skull2:"
The guy you are talking about rides a Kawasaki 750sxi with aluminum plates to reinforce his ski and races down the wave never getting anywhere near the lip.He rides with his handle pole up in his face and when he can't handle the crowds he goes over in front of the trailer park to ride at dmj's.A real class act.

That guy was completely destroying every wave he rode. Not him.Riding in front of the military trailer park is not helping to keep the place open. When the military lifegaurd jeep comes down the beach they want you to move north of the river mouth. That's where Mr. I don't care about anyone else shines when he get's the lifegaurd agro by riding over there.I like to ride there and I hate to see the place get shut down. He is there everyday as a representative of sport. That's not so good. It's just common sense. He left his at the dock.

standup to standup is a quicker, easier and safer way to to

lakes are different though, but its never fun to be stranded alone

Yup you gotta respect the Ocean, things can go south real quick. The O’side Crew have all learned the hard way that prevention is half the battle. Always look out for each other. When one of your boys gets separated from his ski, go after his ski FIRST. Make sure it’s righted and not taking on any water. Then circle back to your friend and drop a leg for him to grab onto and then drag him back to his ski. By the time it takes you to get out a tow rope it’s usually too late. Tow ropes are last resort.

I tend to disagree... A couch is a lot better platform for the rescue than a standup. Just make sure it's not ridden by a moron.

Yea we have the luxury of a rider with a reliable sea doo to rescue us,WAY better than a standup, especially when you have to go a long way

another thing watch out for jettys...

HeHe.... We ride off Atlantic City sometimes. Lots of submerged stuff like drain pipes old peir pilings both wood and concrete with rebar.

Need to respect the water and don't underestimate the ocean. Good idea to know your riding spot, I always know what the tide is doing, and I don't ride anything I can't swim out of.

good tip

I did a rescue at daytona last year, went to whomever it was and held out a leg and they just yelled "dont kick me!"

when I circled back around he finally understood
