Thanks for your help guys but im not looking to maximize power out of the engine just yet im going from a 701 to 1100 its a big step. I just want to be able to run my engine efficiently for a few months and then upgrade tl and pfp. All im saying is will it run well and not get damaged?

just go with what thrust recommends as far as timing. I'm sure they know what works best and if you should advance it at all.

I ran the same setup that you are planning on running. It will work. As others have said you are leaving a lot on the table not doing the pfp or TL. It's a completely different motor. I will honestly say going from a 701 to a 1100 is huge. Good Luck.

Went for the pfp and tbm flywheel msd stock electrics. Works great. Screw changing my battery every 20 mins

I am in the middle of my rebuild , doing similar, My spec is SS 865, 46 carbs, I wanted to put a PFP on and TBM, its running a MSD enhancer at the moment with B-pipe, but was told I should run MSD T/L as the PFP could cook my pistons, whats your thoughts on that, Im in the same boat and don't want to spend another $1,000 on T/L and have all the hassle,
