Super Jet Dasa Single Intake Question

Hey hey, I have this one quick question which most likely will bring on a few more...seems to be the way :D I want to buy a Dasa single intake for my 62t but in the description it states that it is meant for the V-Force 2 reed assemblies. My question is has anyone ever tried to use stock cages with this intake? I thought the V-Force cage design was based off of the stock cages but with a different reed configuration. Not knowing the dimensions of the openings at the cage/case side of the mani I am going to assume it has to be similar to what the stock dimensions are so what gives? Why only V-Force? If anyone has tried stock cages with this thing what were your results?

Thanks for the input.

the opening on the vforce cages are a lot smaller than the opening on the stock cages, so when the intake flow comes in , it will run into a larger void instead of the smooth transition into the v2s. not optimal for flow. why would anybody put a single carb intake on a motor that was designed for dual carbs? all you are going to do is lose power. less carbs=less power

I have tried a single on my engine vs. duals several times and found that there is no difference in power. The only advantages really are less frequent tuning, less maintenance in carb kits and less hardware to fail. Don't get me wrong, my ski runs great but keeping it that way is a chore. I had to re-tune and re-sync a few times this past season. A little water gets inside that tiny hole on the metering diaphragm side of one carb and it flattens out the needle valve lift arm. I had to re-position it twice this year. I prefer the Dasa setup because there is no adapter plate with tiny threaded posts barely doing an effective job as is the case with the Blowsion single manifold.

Don't know about the single as we build for power but the dual v2 Dasa manifold has an oring in a recessed area that the reed cage sits in, its also angled up.

It would fit other cages but they won't seal with the oring due to the smaller face on the other cages.
You can get another dual manifold from Dasa that is sold with v3's, it uses a stock gasket to seal the reeds so this will fit all other style reeds inc the v2's...

Don't know if a single in the v3 style is made, if it is get that as any cage will fit.
