Ok,so the freeride is over for another year.Wondering if anyone came “down with the sickness”? (Disturbed).Reason for asking is last year when l left daytona l got some sort of bug that lasted about six weeks,as well as giving to my wife and son, with the same duration.lf have been in contact with a number of members that also came down with the “Tona Flu” last year. So??

And please, this is not a debate and/or political thread on your beliefs of Covid.DON’T turn it into one.”Just the facts ma’am..

I have never attended the Daytona free ride but someday I will. However last year Jan. myself and wife got the flu bad and lasted for weeks this was pre-COVID days. Last month early Dec. I tested positive for it and I’m not a young man either but I luckily did not get very sick a little sinus infection that is still lingering a bit I quarantined and done with I hope. My point is and maybe yours has it been around over a year and the second infection could be less severe? I have that question also and may never know the truth. Stay Safe Everyone

Funny you bring this up now about last year. Yamanube and myself both caught something nasty last year at Daytona 2020 (a few days before actually). I was completely down for the entire freeride, stuck in bed so bad that it was hard to even walk down the hall to the bathroom. The bad stuff lasted 3 days and I didn't feel back to normal for 2.5 weeks.

I was wondering if we’d see anything about this. My whole crew (Long Island) came home and everyone tested negative on Tuesday.

I think we all had it last year. The day I drove down to daytona 2020, my neighbor wound up in the hospital with double pneumonia, and was on a vent for a week or two. They didn’t know what he had or what caused it, but he was lucky he survived with no issues. Can’t prove it but my gut feeling would say he had covid before we knew it was a thing.

I helped him load some stuff in his truck and was within close quarters the day before.

If you tested negative tuesday it doesn`t mean you won`t test positive later. The current recommendation is to test at least 3-5 days post exposure, however, it can take up to 14 days post exposure to become positive. It is fairly rare to take more than 10 days, but it is possible.

So far, I don’t know of anyone that caught it this year at Daytona. However, Daytona 2020 there was definitely something (probably coronavirus) going around that was pretty brutal.

Last year after Daytona, I came down with a nasty flu like sickness. Felt truly terrible for like 2-3 days and then had a lingering cough for a couple weeks. Havent heard anyone from our squad this year feeling ill since Daytona.

Didn't have any issues last year until I went to Phoenix at the end of February. Then I probably got COVID and had a bad cough for 3 weeks. This year no ill effects from Daytona and my buddy I was with most of the time had a negative covid test.

There was definitely a gnarly virus going around last year pre COVID. Just about everyone in my department at work got super sick with some type of flu in upstate NY.

I haven't been to a Daytona ride yet, but it is funny that last year In late Dec/early Jan I had a horrible flu like sickness that lasted about 4 days. I still wonder if I got the Rona too at that time.
