seriously, I should be living on the beach. yankees go home.:chairshot:

well i came home from florida!! :puppy_dog_eyes: does this mean you floridians don't want fishy to occupy some space in florida in a few years??
cause really i like the slow pace, relaxed living where its warm pretty much all year round!! and the best part is no snow... i guess this yankee will have to find another state to move south to...maybe south carolina or georgia! ;)

and seriously california, only if you like a blanket of smog hovering over you!! that shiot just looks nasty!!

how bout arizona!! hhhmmm, now theres a thought! close to vegas, havasu!!

havasu is supposed to be awesome but there is no jobs. Colorado is another option because you can go skiing in the morning then drive about 2 hours and go water skiing. my friend lived in az and Colorado he told me to go out west but id like to take into account all of my options. and i used to want to go to cali. but i like fast cars and i ride motocross and power doesn't come with all of that emissions crap, plus the place does have a lot of smog unless you are way up north.(and its about to fall off the country) <sorry about that guys
but yea with all accounts flordia seems like a place i would like to try out for a little while if i get bored i get bored and try somewhere else. id just like to get sorta close to something worth while but that's not going to run me dry on cash within a few weeks.

I would suggest St. Petersburg. Nicer beaches, almost always warmer than Daytona, just a nicer city. Orlando is too congested for me. It usually takes us 3-3 1/2 hrs to get from Daytona to St. Petersburg, depending on the traffic on I4, which has been under construction for it seems like 20 yrs.

OK, I'll have to chime in here. I loved living in Jacksonville. Jacksonville beach has a great spot to launch right on the beach just for jet skiers at 8th street north. Hugonought park has some of the cleanest, most predictable surf on the East coast. J-ville surf is the best in the state. Its 1.5 hours from Daytona, 2 hours to Orlando, cooler than balmy south FL but never too chilly. The hurricanes rarely hit there and you can expect 7ft surf several times a year. I rode surf there for 5 years. It was the best time of my life as far as skiing goes. Jacksonville/Atlantic beach has good night life and there are some great deals on property right now. Jobs is the big problem there. Its a Democrat controlled state now so don't expect a great job opportunity there anytime soon. The cool thing is its the largest city in the US (In acreage) but only 1 million people. It has everything you need but it's not a giant city with all the crime and such. The people are cool and half the people talk like Georgians. Yup, even the ladies! Don't overlook Jacksonville.

BTW, I'm moving to AZ. 5 hours from killer surf. Good snow skiing, good flat-water riding, great motorcycling, good jobs for a pool guy!

Have you ever said what you do for a living? Your job could be the strongest factor in where you live. Some areas favor certain jobs more than others.....

hey melmack you have a point, i am gonna miss snow skiing for sure and im used to flatwater. Job wise i am pretty much open to try anything. I am probably going to finish school where ever i live so that is open right now i am a CAD major at my local college. I can weld and fab pretty well also so that may also be an option to get me through school if i don't finish up here.

See, now there's one more reason to take my advice and move to Jacksonville. I was a CAD guy too. I studied CAD back in the AutoCad 2000 days. There are some good schools in Jville. UNF is huge. They probably have a good Cad program.

I think Jacksonville would be on my list of places to check out once i have more cash saved especially with the school and transfer possibilities to the school. There seems like there are a lot of motocross tracks down there too which is another upside since i drive a jeep and there is no place to four wheel at that isn't mud =/ that is a downside. sounds awesome guys this input is so helpful at least i am forming some type of plan.

I went to school in FL for 4yrs. I couldn't take it after a while. I would move to SC or GA if I was going to do it. Otherwise I'd head to South FL, MIA, PBI, FLL

So i think all in all i am settling on Jacksonville, but not Florida North Carolina it has a little bit of both worlds and is about 10 hours from where i currently live. My friend and i want to move down try it out and then go from there to see how we like it.

Interesting choice. NC gets pretty cold though. But nice summers and the surf is good. I lived there for a bit too(Triangle area). It was nice. Lots of lakes to ride.

you know most people here in nc like it, got mountains one side, beach the other. from me mountains are like 1.5 hours and beach 4 hours, which is awesome, but I hate it here. I like cold weather. but I hate cold water. I HATE the humidity over here, its killer in the summer, but living on the lake makes that better, can just walk outside and go swimming. Winters are light, though we got a TON of snow this year.
Me personally I would love to live out west, not cali, but somewhere out there, I dont care for surf, so like utah or nv or somewhere in that area would be great.

Out west is pretty amazing. i have a friend who lived and worked in vail this past year and was supposed to move to lake Tahoe but now is moving to la instead he loved co but is going for something different with la. my other friend is living in Jacksonville flordia doing construction he moved like 3 months ago or so he said he likes it, my friend goes to school in St Petersburg and he likes it except for some aspects. I was to the outer banks and loved it. and we drove inland a few miles and i fell in love with it plus i like to ski and there's a few small slopes in nc. i am going to visit in la eventually though since i have a free place to stay. surf really isnt what im after but its nice. ncbrock what are some of the laws i don't see anything that's specific about beach launching. i know nc is pretty lenient with beaches but i cant find anything to specific.

Becarful moving to daytona evryone I know hates it so they move away and at some point allways come back. Also being a smaller town theres lllloooootttttssssss of drama here fun at first but get old fast. Ive lived here my whole life and keep saying ima move but like I said evryone seems to come back so why fight it. All in all its not to bad, not alot of $$$ but we always have an event coming to town. Also if you dont like riding mx tracks than sell the crf because theres not very many woods left in are parts of town.

Ha yea the crf is a good time but no woods for me tracks only im really not a woods rider never really liked it. plus i should get rid of the jeep because the place is flat. and yes i know there is mud but i don't understand what the reason for mud bogging is. i dont like getting dirty so i am more of a rock guy.
