I have a 144 Solas Mag pump in a 14 Trendsetter Chan. Looking to see if going to a 148 setback mag pump would be a noticeable difference, bang for buck kind of thing. Trying to find some gains without going to a bigger motor. Right now I am running a 781bb motor.

Best bang for your buck would be going to the new Torrent 150mm. I love mine. Drops into a 144/148 shoe and will use the same nozzles/trim set up and gets you the closest to a 155 with out having to pull the shoe.

Clearance is also another issue I forgot to mention. I know I have seen Chans with a 155 in them and always wanted to know how in the heck did they get it in there. Not changing the pump shoe and nozzle and trim would be the best thing. Looking for bolt in, not wanting to retro anything.

The chan's had 155 tunnels. I would knock out the 144 shoe and install a 155 shoe ( if it doesn't already have a 155 shoe). No reason to go 148 when you can go 155.

Mine came with a 144 shoe in it. It is also a 2014 Trendsetters, don't know if Twangled changed it to a 155 when they started building them. I am going to check the clearance to see if it is possible without reinventing the pump tunnel. I know there are a few differences between the 2 hulls.

I ran the solas 144 in my SF DASA 900 and then upgraded to the 148 Torrent setback....makes a massive difference around positive effect , hits really hard FW and fantastic hookup in surf riding.....its a no brainer to go up to the 150 if you still on 144....I also run the 148 in my krash 50Cal TPE1100......all the 144 stuff I have is pretty useless now. (u just cant go back)

I have a twangled Chan and a run an oem 155, there is plenty of room. Nothing lines up very well because it's twangled, but there's plenty of room for the big pump.

Exactly my point. I am talking about a 2014 Trendsetters Chan. Twangled made some changes weather they meant to or not??? Just like Twangled has 4 bolts for the ride plate in the chine rails verse 2 from Trendsetters. But with the quality of the Twangled ride plate, I would add more bolts to. LOL. Little salty here with them.

Your trendsetter Chan should have a 155 tunnel. They just had 144 shoes in them. My ‘13 Chan had a 155 pump in it. Previous owner did some African American engineering to the 144 shoe to put the 155 up to it but I pulled it out and put a 155 shoe in it.
