dents in a bpipe chamber... how much effect?

Ive got one with a pretty good size extra depth dent in the back side for hull clearance, does this make diff in the way the pipe will hit,its prolly a extra 1/4 inch further in for a stretch of maybe 8 inches? extra thick glass reinforced hull on the sides, not sure a non dented chamber will even fit??

its maybe a half inch in the middle in one spot but less than that down most the back of it,but thats good to hear it shouldnt make much of a diff.
the way you hear people talk about these pipes just being made out of a diff material.they dont work as good"carbon" youd think a big azz long dent in one would have a larger effect. It would be rather funny if someone put both alum and carbon on a dyno to debunk the possible myth lol

Years back in either Dirt Rider or MX Action magazine did dyno runs on a two stroke 250 MX bike while denting the pipe before each run. A ball peen hammer dent caused like 0.001 hp loss. When they dented it close to the head pipe it actually gained about 0.001 hp. It wasn't until they caved the thing in as if you dropped the bike over on a log or rock until they recorded a dyno drop in hp. Back when I had a YZ250, I smashed two seperate pipes and didn't notice a difference in power. Then again being dead tired in a XC race you probably wouldn't notice anyways.

funny you should mention that,I had a yz250 with a fmf pipe that got so many dents in it you would think to trash it,but it still ripped, some were pretty big dents, but no major cave ins

IDK we would have fixed it if it was our's but that damm sled it still climbing good.
