Super Jet Did anyone carry 2 superjets in a 5x8 ENCLOSED trailer?

Will they fit side by side? With superjet hull measuring 26.8" wide, both side by side will be 53.6". Most 5 foot wide trailers have 57-58 inches of interior width so there's 2.4-3.4" of free space between the walls which is perfect. However, the door opening is usually 52-54" wide, so is it possible to load them up?

I'm thinking that first one can be loaded in and pushed against interior wall and moved all the way to the front of the trailer. Then second ski can go in, possibly at a slight angle. Then both skis can be rearranged to sit next to each other with 2.4-3.4" space between them.

Has anyone ever done something like this?

I know it's a tight fit and some enclosed trailers I've seen here carrying jetskis were 6x10 but i really prefer a 5x8 or 5x10 trailer because it can go through a regular garage door whereas a 6x10 trailer would have to be stored outside.

It will fit yes. We rented a 5x8 uhaul trailer and brought two of them to Florida with us. Just check then door opening of the trailer you are looking at to the one from uhaul and if it is the same or wider it will work. Because the opening is narrower then the width of the two skis you kind of have to load them on an angle but it will work. I have since gone with an aftermarket hull, I wish they would fit the same way. The 5x8 fits nicely in the garage where the 6x12 would have to stay outside like you say. Hope that helps!

Skippythespy, Uhaul 5x8 trailer door opening is 48". Space between walls is 56". If you could find a photo it would be great...

Not all trailers are built the same. It might not fit into some. Be sure to check the measurements before you buy anything. My dad and I both have 8' trailers. His is 8'x24' and mine is 8'x18', however, my actual measurements are 8'6"x17'2" (18' to the apex of the curve) while my dads is 8'2"x23'6" (to the apex).

The 7x12 I used to own that I sold to my friend, had an actual inside measurement of 6'8".

Be sure to measure. If you only have inches to spare, don't assume the manufacturer or seller measured exact. Otherwise your 7' trailer may end up being 6'11" with 3" of wood, next thing you know, you're 4 inches short.

Vumad: You are absolutely right.... i'd measure every single trailer before I buy it just to make sure everything fits. And yep, published manufacturer data can never be taken at face value.

i just got a trailer and measured a bunch of 5x8s while looking. every one of the 5x8 trailers i looked at had a 50" door opening but i did not look at any ramp door trailers. i ended up getting a 6x10 cuz i needed it for SXRs and i dont think i could have got two in a 5x8.

Screaming: Yes, SXRs are slightly wider than Superjets so you have to go with a 6 foot trailer. What trailer brand did you end up getting?
