No, that's not what I meant.
If someone's already got the draw on you and/or if it's just about your wallet - there is no reason to escalate by pulling your gun out. I've carried for years, and honestly there is no way I'd pull a gun because some guy is jumping me and wants cash.
Sorry, not worth it.
If my life is in danger, different story. IMHO, that's what concealed carry is about. Not shooting some robbing asshole in the back.
The way I've done that in the past (besides the CCW) is to not have the money on me on the first meet.
CCW doesn't make you an instant hero or invulnerable. It is a very last resort in a situation you should have avoided at all costs to begin with.
Before someone calls me an anti-gun pinko: I am CCW legal in 34 states, have carried for a number of years, often at least 2 firearms at one time. I simply don't think it's something to advertise or feel cool about on the Internet. That's all.

They are out there. You have to be a craigslist hawk to catch the good deals.
I part out a lot of skis. Sometimes I buy a ski and it wasnt't the best deal, then others I show up and feel bad for the amount of money I hand to the guy. Sorry if I sound racist or anything but I always talk on the phone with the guy before I show up. If he speaks broken english or ebonics I don't call back or show up to buy it.
The ski I grabbed today was in a rougher part of town outside NYC off the east river, I ended up loading the GP 760 into my truck with the 74 year old father of the guy I spoke with on the phone. Great deal, somewhat sketchy neighborhood but hey, its my side hobby/business and keeps me able to buy what I need to keep my own ski running without touching my regular paycheck. Sure it costs me some time and labor, but I end up using the gas out of the skis in my crappy car, hand off the random types of 2 stroke oil to my father to run through his boat motor, and make a couple bucks in the meantime. Keeps me out of trouble and money in the jetski fund.
Never owned a gun and probably would get myself in trouble with a pistol. I'm going to buy a shotgun this fall to go skeet shooting with buddies and maybe a home defense shotgun but I still haven't decided yet.

Just picked up a 40cf Bottle of argon from a guy on Craigslist. I set up the deal last night while this topic was going on and went this morning to get it. Left the gun at home, left my wife unarmed in the car. The guy met me in the garage with his 20 month old son on his hip. Great guy and a good deal for me.
I gave him the option of meeting somewhere neutral but he said his house worked best if I didn't mind.
I like to drag out Craigslist deals over several interactions to gauge who I am dealing with. The neighborhood has a great deal of influence as to my comfort level for sure and if there was any doubt, I would just walk away. I like not needing a gun, I love that I can have one anyways.

Its not always there home address, in Philly, they list banshees on CL with a prepaid phone number, give you an adress that doesnt exist (like 1488 when that street only goes up to 1460) then they rob you while your driving around real slow looking for it.
