I had better luck with the WSM rebuild cranks than I ever did with the SBT stuff,I really hated when SBT bought out WSM's crank rebuilding program. They now have some other company in New York building their crankshafts for them though.

I'm pretty sure Wiseco use to make the rods for "Hot Rods". They discouniued them in around 03 and "Hot Rods" decided to use Tawian company.

I've got "Hot Rods" rods from Wiseco back in the day. Then had Crankworks rebuild a stock oem crank with crankworks bearings & my rods then true & weld. Was a hell of lot cheaper than the OEM for $740

thats interesting because I bought my hot rods and the business i bought it from had them drop ship it directly from their NY warehouse... i wonder if thats just a coincidence:question:

its funny how the best cranks around are....OEM. In the automotive world, OEM rods/cranks need to be upgraded when you add power

I wouldn't say oem is the best. I would agree with wfo people are cheap. A new stock stroke crankworks crank is better just more cash

that would be the same guy that did cranks for wsm in the 1st place. his name is mike. aka new york crankshaft. if you let him know its going into a motor with work done to it he will set up a nice trued and welded crank for you.i am running a "mike crank"in my ported superjet. 215 psi WOT all day long. the crank has about 300 hours on it in 2 years still running strong.

Sent my 64X crank to Crank Works for a re-build. The service tech called me today and reviewed the prices....$515.00 for my OEM crank rebuilt with HotRods parts & bearings, and maybe using the pins over. ?? It was something like $250.00 more for OEM bearings. He also told me they assemble the BILLET cranks with HotRods bearings, I said, are you sure? Yep. He said they have NO problems with the parts and bearings. Hmmmmm

What's the sense of having a stock stroke crank rebuilt when the cost of a new one (OEM or HotRods, your choice) is about the same.

I told him to keep it. So, there you have it. Buy a cheap HotRods crank, run it til it breaks(maybe 2 seasons), throw it all in the trash, buy all new...repeat...

The trouble with the Hotrods crank is in the webs. That's what someone smart told me, anyhow.
