I have similar padding in my SN and my 650sx, the SN has cut diamond, the SX has molded. The SN is a lot more comfortable riding knees in the tray through no-wake zone or towing in broke down couches, also in normal riding stance the molded turf is rough on the calves and even on the elbows in deep water starts. The cut may wear out faster, but it has taken tons of abuse in my SN w/ Tom 21's. I respect others preferences but for me the comfort of the soft cut diamond turf far outweighs the durability benefit. I wouldn't mind having to turf every 5 years to have significantly greater comfort. I think for someone who hasn't tried both it would be good to try before you invest the time and money.Molded is the way to go for durability. As far as 'softness' does anyone ride barefoot anymore? 95% of the cushioning comes from the underpadding anyhow. Cut is fine for 'decorative' areas, but for riding surfaces molded wins hands down.
