If you search there is contradicting info on this. You will need a jumper to change the sex on the white with red wire, that much is agreed upon. That's a pretty easy thing to make. Some say this works but there are some (more trusted users imo) who claim they are not to be interchangeable. I am not sure what the issue is with doing so, nobody seems to say. Maybe it works but is just not optimal? I just looked into this myself and basically came up with more questions than answers. Luckily it turned out I did not need to swap them.

yes it will work...the 62t cdi will withstand higher voltage that the 62t stator puts out.

so the 62 cdi will work on the 61x motor. BUT the 61x cdi wont work on the 62t motor? because of the voltage

reason is i wanted to try my protec 62t cdi on my 61x setup

I know for a fact a 62t cdi works on a 61x stator, just one wire, the red/white needs a male male jumper wire. And I also tested my 62t stator when my TBM flywheel took a shyt with the extra 61x cdi I had, to verify it wasn't the Msd enhancer.

the 61x cdi will work on a higher voltage 62t stator, I have done it short term but for longevity I would run the matched set...

62t cdi on 61x stator no problem...

sweet thanks for the help guys! is there any benefit switching to the protec unit? besides rev limiter? does it help ski performance?? or is it more stress on the motor
