DISCONTINUING THE SUPERJET????

Every year in Aug seems that our speculating increases with the anticipation of a 300lb 4t SJ. Only for hopes and dreams to be crushed with silence from Yamaha
Dreams will come true this yr except the weight portion... Its 111lbs heavier then the 2 stroke which is actually less then I had expected
it to be. It will be right in the middle between the 2S SJ and SXR1500, in a class of its own.

Those are not marketing department graphics. That has to be a prototype.
Same for the lack of padding on top of the tray rails.
Wait for 8/12.
But we still need to approach Trump's EPA to except 2-stroke jet skis.
Kawasaki and Yamaha would not like it.
Krash would like it.

From the old TR1 engine thread:

Yamaha TR-1 Marine Engine Specifications:
Engine: Three cylinder, 4 stroke, 1049cc Yamaha Marine Engine
Lubrication: Wet sump
Fuel: Regular unleaded
Weight: 160 pounds
Dimensions: L: 30”, W: 21”, H: 19”

Below is a quote from watercraft journal:

In stock form, the TR-1 cranks out “somewhere between 115-and-125 horsepower.” When given a reflashed ECU with a custom tune, the TR-1 wakes up quite a bit, jumping up to 165 horsepower. Toss in a pair of forged pistons and you’ve got 185 ponies. Slap on a turbo and you’ve got an insanely nasty 3-banger, spitting out over 260 horsepower. Oh, and apparently that setup can last several hundreds of hours on the dyno

I posted this in the other thread:
132lbs lighter than competition, SXR1500 weight is 551lbs --> 419lbs vs the current 291lb SJ 700.
Damn, adding 130lbs! The TR1 in couch trim weighs 160lbs from what I read. I do not know how much a 701 engine weighs.

10 in shorter than competition, SXR1500 length is 104.5 in --> 94.5in vs the current 88.2in SJ 700. Not much longer!

WOW, if forged pistons will add 20hp then a K&N filter should be worth at least 100hp!

I'm going to leak a little info, being the internet is awash with mis information

the new 4 stroke model is only 69 pounds heavier than the 2 stroke version and makes a whopping 100 HP versus the 2 stroke SuperJet's 73 HP.
