Custom/Hybrid DIY repitch

The thing no one ever addresses is how far you can go. If you pitching down at some point the blades will hit the wear ring and if your pitching up at some point the prop to wear ring clearance will be to great and you will loose optimal pump pressure. I can't imagine you can go more then a few degrees with out having to machine clearances.

That's why you have to start out with a casting that has angles close to what you want.

The guy that always did repitching for me (Art Gomez/Jetworks/BlackJack Performance) said 1.5 - 2 degrees absolute maximum in each direction.

I took one to about 3.5 myself and IT DID require careful shaving to fit back into the pump. 2* +/- has been just fine for all of them that I've done. After I bend one I always set it on a flat srface with blades marked on the edge every inch. Then use a precision ruler to measure every blade at every inch to make sure they are all true. You'd be surprised how different they can be without ever vibrating.
