Do I need race gas ?

i picked up a real clean 96 b1 today. The guy I bought it from said I should use a mix of race and 93 octane because the cylinders have 190 and 193 octane. At what compression do you need to run race gas. Dont want to blow the motor

I'd run race gas on that one, if it where a short/freestyle ski you would probably be all right with pump gas (depending on ignition/timing) but on a heavy blaster that will likely see lots of WOT, you'll probably see some deto.

Perfect response IMO.

50/50, 93 mixed with 103 or higher race fuel will be sufficient no need to go all race fuel. Could even run aviation fuel straight and avoid detonation but are likely to see a slight loss in performance compared to the 50/50 mix.

What size domes to bring it down for pump gas it has 35cc domes in a riva head now
