Do Skis Slide In Snow?

I have to get my SJ from my garage into my walkout basement. Normally I put it on the trailer and walk it down the hill. So far today we have gotten probably close to 6" of snow, so I don't think that is going to work. I'm thinking of setting it at the top of the hill and just pushing it down. Thoughts?

Here is my view for the day at work:

Weight could have had something to do with it. My hill isn't too terribly steep though either. I'm sure it would pull behind a truck or snowmobile just fine though. I was really hoping to get a good push and ride it down for kicks and giggles, but that definitely didn't happen. It did drag well through the rest of my yard though.

Was it too heavy to slide well? I've been wanting to do this with an empty hull for awhile.
I've tried it with an empty 550 hull down a decently steep hill. It wouldnt slide and would just stick to the snow. It was probably because the snow was pretty wet at ?the time, so maybe a little wax or oil will do the trick? o_O

Seems like it would be more work than it is worth to slide it down a hill, and then have to drag it back up. Now if you were pulling it behind something, as in the videos above, it might be worthwhile.
