I tried doing a search but couldn't come up with anything. I'm wondering how much difference an aftermarket water box makes. Would it be worth it for me, I have a xscream ss865 in my trinity matrix. Thanks
As mentioned above, it's not a huge increase on most skis. My wife's ski has the new gen X-Metal box and we have tried it on a single carb 701 and ported 760 and compared it to stock water box. Really it just made the bottom end a tiny bit crisper on the 760 and seemed to help response through the rpm range. Nothing huge. The X-Metal has a nice deeper tone that is different (not really louder or quieter) than the stock one.
Well I guess it's kind of quieter when the box is dried out over oem.
Agree with comments above. If we are talking the new gen xmetal, a little better than stock, but quite a bit lighter and holds less water in it so that makes the weight difference more. You can feel the weight difference in the nose, every little bit matters for flatwater.
