I do the same with my Suburban. I unbolted the 2nd row seating and put a 4'x8'x3/4" piece of plywood in the back covered in auto carpet. It makes the area completely flat, and gives me a cargo space underneath where the 2nd row seating was. I added 2"x2" rails/bunks for the ride down to Daytona, to keep the ski from moving anywhere. I love it. Everything is locked away from the elements and nobody knows you're even hauling a ski
