Does Anyone Know This Lift System?

I saw pictures of this lift system, but the resolution is too low to read the brand name on the side. Does anyone know who makes this or have any other pictures of this system?

I want to try and build my own. Do you know anyone who has one? Do they like it? Are there any design flaws?

I have never seen one of these personally but I have seen one of the ATV models in aluminum and it was very nice. Even in Aluminum it is heavy and very complicated. lot's of moving parts that may prove difficult to keep moving from year to year.

They are also built for large watercraft so I believe there is great opportunity to scale it down to a much more reasonable size and weight to handle a couple of standups.

I have been working on a different design for the last 5 years and believe I have 95% of it figured out. Just waiting on the time, energy and capital to start fabbing it up.

You are planing on commercializing your design? If not, I'd like to take a look at it and try and make one for myself. I have an Avalanche so the bed isn't huge, but it doesn't have wheel wells so I have some good space to work with.

I don't plan on producing them in volume but I will probably end up building a couple as I learn and refine my design. Probably start off pretty basic and manual and then progress to a fully automated self loader.

I'm almost a full year behind on my "New Products" list so I won't make any promises. Seems I have alot more time to dream ideas than to actually produce them lately.

I like tinkering...so if you feel like giving me a headstart so I can take both my skis out easy I'd appreciate it. I'll give you some feedback. My goal is a lift where I can remove the bunks and have the system fit in my bed with the gate closed. I also want to be able to put my hard covers on. I plan on an electric winch and tilt system like this. I live in New Olreans and I don't have any room for a trailer so I need to get creative.

I don't get the point. I know towing a trailer sucks, but if you are going to put heavy couches up above the sides of the bed that truck is going to handle like poop! Seems like a lot of money for re-inventing the wheel.

I never understood couches either but a couple of standups should be no different above the bed than sitting in the bed.

I have a 2 place Triton trailer as well as a 10' Haulmark enclosed and I still prefer hauling my skis in the bed of the truck. No trailer to worry about and way better mileage. On top of that, one of our riding spots is very limited on where to put a trailer.

I started off with a simple wooden frame resting on the wheel wells but now, like wumps, I want to regain my bed space and be able to close and lock the tailgate.

What do you do when you have to pick up a new washing machine next week and all that stuff is bolted in the bed?

Honestly not trying to be a wise guy with that question. I'm really curious. I use my truck mostly for jet ski related stuff but I do still use it as a truck and throw other junk in the bed.

My wooden rack lifts out in less than a minute. My new system will slide out in one piece in less than 2 minutes or you can take the racks off and the platform will support enough weight to overload the vehicle so you coudl leave it in as long as height wasn't an issue.

I am probably saying to much already but my new system will be based on a scaled down version of a snowmobile deck.

Here is a pic of the Aluminum deck I used for snowmobiling for years. The plywood deck weighed more than the rest of the rack and I have carried as much as 2700lbs on it. It has a full frame under it that sits on the bed floor and can be slid in and out very easily.

An Avalance bed is narrow, and 4 ft. long at best, combined with the fairings (for lack of a better word) on the back of the cab, Your never gonna launch 1 or 2 ski's any cheaper than just getting a trailer.

I have an avalanche that once in a while we put a stand up in the bed, and I don't think there is any way you can fit more than one ski in that bed.Even if you keep one low and raise one up. It is just too narrow. If a tailer is not an option I agree that one in the bed (with the back down) so you can get it all the way in, and one on one of those hitch haulers is your best and least expensive option.

Money isn't the limiting factor. Tinkering is fun. Will a hitch hauler allow the tailgate to be down? That seems like it would put the ski too far aft.

if all your hauling is 2 standups would a sliding floor be an option. I have seen a lot in the construction trade. they hold a lot of weight and slide out past your tail gate. A quick lift and your skis are in the water,
